Que. A 200 volt, DC short shunt generator is supplying a load current of is ampere. The armature resistance is 0.5 ohm, series field resistance is 0.5 ohm and shunt field resistance is 100 ohm.
Calculate the emf generated. Brush drop is 1 volt per brush.

Ans. 
= 15× 0.5

                     = 7.5 V                              

voltage across series winding =200+7.5

                                = 207.5 V



   = 15+2.075
  = 17.075 A


          = 17.705×0.5
= 8.5375 V


                         = 200+805375+7.5×1

                                               = 218.038 V
